Demand Justice for Breonna Taylor
Yep — This has nothing to do with travel. But as a native of Louisville, I can’t help but talk about this.
It's been over 100 days since Breonna Taylor was murdered. Three plain clothes officers -- Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove -- rammed down the door of her home in Louisville, Kentucky on March 13th in the middle of the night with a no-knock search warrant while she and her partner Kenneth Walker were sleeping. The officers believed that her home was part of a drug ring. When they entered, they were shot at by Walker, who acted in self-defense and maintained that the officers never identified themselves. Mattingly, Hankison and Cosgrove fired 20 rounds, eight of which killed Taylor. To this date, only one of the officers (Hankison) has been fired, and none of them have been arrested, charged or convicted. She was only 26 years old.

Hello,
My name is (FIRST AND LAST NAME), and I live in (FULL ADDRESS). I’m writing to you today on behalf of Breonna Taylor. I’m calling for the prosecution of Louisville Metro Police members Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly and officers Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove to the fullest extent of the law. I demand that Mattingly, Hankison and Cosgrove each be arrested and charged for 2nd degree murder for the wrongful death of Breonna Taylor. The approach that the officers chose to take in arriving in plain clothes, unmarked cars and not announcing themselves via a “no-knock warrant” (which has since been banned in the city of Louisville) was one that resulted in murder and must not be taken lightly. Breonna Taylor was an emergency medical technician, an essential worker, and did not live to celebrate her 27th birthday.
Please arrest and charge the officers responsible for her death, and appoint a special prosecutor to immediately investigate the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Thank you, ________
