Hi, I'm Keith Brooks (formerly Black Hat Travels). I’m a Black, queer creative, traveler, writer, and artist, among other things. I’m currently in İstanbul, Turkey and am sharing my adventures after living here for over a year. You can follow #sothisisturkey on my Instagram and YouTube accounts.

I started this project originally as a declaration for my love of travel and tapping into a global, common thread that connects us all, stemming from a natural yearning for seeing what's on the other side. 12 years, 65 countries, two passports and thousands of airplane miles later, I still travel, but am now also focusing on other creative projects. I've been immensely grateful for the thrills and experiences I've had, the many connections I've made in each place I've visited and the wonderment of still finding it possible to discover something new or unfamiliar. All of this has helped shaped my identity as a person in the world, with learnings and offerings to share.
